Getting an Allegro MasterCard

Fill out a quick online form and, upon verifying your identity, you will get a card in the mail in approximately 5-10 business days. There is no fee to order the card.

You should receive your card approximately 3-5 business days after you place your order. If you do not receive your card within 10 business days, call Customer Service at (805) 246-1410

When your card arrives, read the enclosed materials including the Cardholder Agreement and Privacy Policy then activate your Allegro MasterCard. It's simple to activate it online or over the phone. Follow the printed instructions that arrive with your card. You will be required to provide your name, street address, date of birth and other information to identify you. The bank that issues the card must collect this information in accordance with The USA PATRIOT Act, a Federal law that requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person associated with an account.

There is no cost to order and activate an Allegro MasterCard. Once you fund the card you must choose from one of Allegro’s three (3) monthly subscription packages.

Adding Money to an Allegro MasterCard 

Choose from the following ways to add money to your Allegro MasterCard:

• Direct Deposit:
Direct Deposit is the easy way to add your paycheck or government payments check to your Allegro MasterCard. Learn more. If you already have an Allegro MasterCard Card Account click here to get the bank routing number (sometimes referred to as the 'ABA Routing Number'). Your Allegro MasterCard number is your account number. These numbers are necessary to set up Direct Deposit.

• Reload Network Locations:
There are more than 130,000 convenient locations in the U.S. where you can add money to your Allegro MasterCard Card Account using the Moneygram Network. Our Reload Center locator helps you find the lowest-cost locations nearest to you.

• Bank Transfers:
Add money from virtually any U.S.-issued bank account. If you have a checking or savings account or a bank debit card, use it to add money to your Allegro MasterCard Card Account. Log in to learn more.

• Transfer money between Allegro MasterCard Card Accounts:
It's simple to transfer money from one Allegro Card Account to another. Log in to learn more.

• Tax Refunds:
Tell the IRS to electronically deposit your refund directly to your Allegro MasterCard Card Account. Simply provide the bank routing number (sometimes referred to as the 'ABA Routing Number') and your account number. Log in to get the bank routing number and your account number. 

You can find the routing number and your account number in a number of ways.

Log in to your online Account Center. From the main menu, select "Add/Manage Money" and then "Direct Deposit." The information required to sign up for Direct Deposit will appear in the grey box on the right side of the screen or click here.

Call (805) 246-1410 and select the "Other Services" option to get your Direct Deposit information.

If you don't have an Allegro MasterCard and would like to sign up for direct deposit, your first step is to order an Allegro MasterCard. When you receive the card in the mail, it comes with Direct Deposit enrollment instructions, including how to get the routing and account numbers 

They are:
* Social Security payments
* Pension and other regular payments
* Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
* Social Security Disability Act (SSDI)
* Veterans Administration Compensation and Pension
* Railroad Retirement Benefits (RRB)
* Defense Finance and Accounting Service Payments (DFAS)
* State unemployment benefits (varies by state) 

The Allegro MasterCard gives you access to your money as soon as the funds are electronically deposited to your Card Account - that's up to 2 days faster than you'd expect. Your Card Account must be active (that is, you must have selected a monthly subscription package and a purchase, load, or cash withdrawal has occurred) and in good standing in order for electronic direct deposits to be credited.

Processing of a direct deposit requires that the name associated with the direct deposit (the payee) be the same as the name associated with the Card Account. Card load limits apply. Faster access to funds is based on comparison of traditional banking policies versus electronic direct deposit. Direct deposit and earlier availability of funds are subject to payor's support of this feature and timing of payor's funding. Check with your payor to find out when the direct deposit of funds will start.

Make an inquiry at a participating ATM located in the U.S. 

With an Allegro MasterCard, you can make purchases at stores, over the phone and online. Use the card anywhere Debit MasterCard is accepted. You can also pay bills, rent and other necessities.

To comply with federal regulations, there are limits affecting how much money can be loaded, withdrawn and spent by each cardholder.

The maximum amount you can spend or withdraw at a time varies by type of transaction. Use this chart to determine the limits.

You can use your card to withdraw cash at virtually any ATM that accepts MasterCard

Yes you can! When making purchases at many retailers, such as grocery stores, select "DEBIT" and enter your PIN to get cash back.

Immediately call Customer Service at our toll-free number, (805) 246-1410. Or, log in to your Online Account Center or us the MyAllegro mobile app to report your Allegro MasterCard as lost or stolen. From the main menu, select "My Account," and then "Report Card Lost/Stolen". You will also be able to order a new card.

You can transfer money from your card to family members or friends who also have an Allegro MasterCard. The two most popular - no cost - ways to do this are using your online Account Center or by text message. Log in to the online Account Center to learn more.

Log in to the online Account Center where you can apply for an unsecured loan through any Allegro subsidiary or affiliate. Acceptance and approval is not guaranteed. For any approved and issued loans, loan proceeds will be immediately deposited into your Allegro MasterCard Card Account.

Log in to your Online Account Center to get started.
From the main menu, select "Help" and then "File a Dispute" to start the dispute process.
You will need your PIN to access this online service. 

You can close your Card Account the following ways:

Security Information

Call us immediately, if you think you or your Allegro MasterCard Card Account may have been subject to fraudulent activity.

Call us by telephone if you think your Allegro MasterCard Card Account may be or has been compromised. If you prefer to contact us electronically, please e-mail us your information using the 'Secure Inbox' within your Allegro MasterCard Card Account Center. We will respond to your request within 48 hours.

If you think you've received a fraudulent e-mail related to your Allegro MasterCard, please forward it to contact@myallegro.com and we will investigate it for you. You'll receive an automated response to let you know we received your e-mail.

Information you provide via electronic forms on www.myallegro.com is secure and encrypted in most instances. We advise you to always check that your web session is secure. Look for the small lock symbol that usually appears in the lower corner of your web browser window.

Current versions of most web browsers use this symbol to indicate when a web page is encrypted for transmission. Or, look for the letters "https://" at the beginning of the website URL in your web browser. The 's' in 'https' means the web connection is secure. 

We are serious about keeping your personal information safe. For security reasons, you may access your Card Account information from our website only if you have enrolled for Allegro MasterCard Online Banking access. Allegro MasterCard Online Banking uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your personal information, such as user IDs, passwords, and Card Account information, when transmitted over the internet. Any information we provide is scrambled en route and decoded once it reaches your browser.

E-mail sent within the Allegro MasterCard Card Account Center is secure when you use the 'Secure Inbox'. However, e-mail you send to us through other means may not be secure - unless we advise you that security measures are in place prior to your transmitting the message.

Therefore, DO NOT send confidential information, such as Social Security or Card Account numbers to us via unsecured e-mail. Such communications should be sent to us via the 'Secure Inbox,' or you may call Customer Service at (805) 246-1410 during business hours.

We are not responsible for the information provided by, or the security of sites linked to or from our website. In most cases, links to non-Allegro MasterCard websites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of the Allegro MasterCard website. Third party websites may have different privacy policies and/or security standards governing their sites.

Fraud Protection begins with knowing your personal and Card Account information is safe. Control your Information.

* Don't share your Card Account number or Personal Identification Number (PIN) with anyone. Don't write your PIN anywhere on your card, on any of the other materials that came with your card, or on print-outs of your card activity summaries. Always guard your Card Account number and PIN!

* If you use Allegro MasterCard Online Banking, don't share your username and password with anyone. Try to avoid writing it down and storing it somewhere where it can be easily lost. For more protection, change your password every 90 days and never use the same password for all of your online accounts.
